Have I mentioned that I love The xx? There have been quite a few people who have told me they find them boring, but I hearts them - and I hearts this remix. It’s making my common-cold-infected-self feel just the teensiest better about life. Though… I should add their other songs make me feel sad about life, but that’s besides the point of this particular post! LOL

My initial attraction to a life in clubs was born out of escapism, a desire to belong to a scene where everybody felt like an outsider, a freak or just part of the great misunderstood. Clubs are places where you can dress, say and be whoever you like. There are no rules. You can express yourself, create an alter ego and get totally lost in the music.
It feels like a perfect night to dress up like hipsters and make fun of our exes
This is for my friend Jon - who said this song made him think of me. When we were 22, music was everywhere, gas was cheaper, responsibilities were almost non-existant, and our dramas were still very much like high school. We were pretentious assholes but all the while still weird and dorky. One of my other friends said it best - under 25 is the new 16. As gross as it is to think that, I can’t help but think everyone is right and that being a “millennial” is not so bad. So what if we are in this state of Never Neverland? We’re living. Don’t get me wrong - I’m pretty accepting of becoming 28 in a week and soon 30… I’m pretty excited for feeling a little more responsible and thus a little happier - I just also love the freedom of youth and 22. And back then, hangovers DIDN’T hurt. Probably because we didn’t have shit to do the next day LOL
PS Why yes, I do like Taylor Swift and her music. Her music is exactly what it is, straight forward guilty pleasure pop. It’s her diary and she’s sharing it. She makes her music easy enough to relate to, and that’s why she sells.

AlunaGeorge - Your Drums, Your Love
We previously posted the audio clip for the delightful “Your Drums, Your Love” from UK duo AlunaGeorge. Today, we have a video to compliment the song; Henry Scholfield directed it. The two are currently putting the finishing touches to their yet-to-be-titled debut album.
UNF! I LOVE AlunaGeorge! Finally I have something new to listen from her, and finally a new video! She’s like chillwave, some post dubstep (I really hate that term but whatevs), mashed w/90s R&B and I love it so much. Basically… trip-hop. I’m glad it’s making a come back. I also really dig her fashion style. I love how effortless she looks - not a lot of people can pull of minimalism. She can.
Public Enemy-Don’t Believe The Hype (by frosty1852)
1.) Because seeing Chuck D perform w/DJ Lord was just bomb.
2.) Because I want to be Chuck D’s friend. After hearing him speak at San Diego Music Thing, all I could think was “Can we be homies?” He has a lot to say, A LOT. But it all makes sense, and there is a lot of truth behind what he says. A lot of truth about the music industry and the state of the world. Crazy intelligent man - funny too. And WTF up w/his incredible memory? He remembers everything! Most touring musicians do not.
*le sigh* wish I got better photos, but it’s alright.

Sunday Girl - Love U More (RAC Mix) (by SSTSSTEEE)
This song is feeding my bipolar weather feelings. I want it to stay summer forever, but I want cooler weather and moody music. I want to wear tights and wrap myself in cardigans. But I stepped outside to let my dog out, and 10am felt so good. Summer doesn’t end in San Diego, and I kind of love it.
And this song - it just makes me so happy. Slightly moody but slightly carefree and loving. I like music because of how it makes me feel.
